Just wondering if there's any interest in guitar builders in southern/eastern Ontario getting together for the occasional seminar/swap/what have you. I'm just north of Cobourg and would be happy to host if there was any interest. Lemme know Steve |

Okay, lemme toss something radical into the mix. Is there anyone who would be interested in PAYING to get together and to learn something? What if I could get someone like Joshia de Jonge to do a day on French polishing? Or Grit Laskin to show you how to do a Laskin arm rest? Or what about importing Hesh to do a class on setup? I'm not saying I can pull this together, but I'm just trying to get a sense of what the interest may be out there. And btw, this wouldn't be a profit making venture on my part. Any cash would be strictly for the person doing the teaching. Any thoughts? Ideas? Thanks in advance Steve |

Just for the sake of argument, call it 200-250 per person. Too rich? Depends on the subject? Lemme know. S |

From a beginners view, I would be more inclined to attend if there was an opportunity to learn. I really wouldn't have much to contribute in a "get together" environment. Meeting Hesh would be fun. |

If it was going to be a paid event it would entirely depend on the topic and who was presenting it. I'd be willing to pay 200 or so if it was something I was interested in. Just a thought, but you may not get as many pro builders if you are charging money like that for something pros may not be interested in. |

Wow Alex .. I just brought home 48 of her cousins yesterday .. after my venture up to the Ottawa guitar show, had to make a trip to see "the beer king" .... across the river ... and also picked up some of Stella's Mexican and German friends as well, they looked left out !!! |

Then I'll supply lunch for everyone. You can bring your own sisters and cousins and whatnot ![]() I'm kinda thinking October, cause lots of people are unavailable in July and August, and the Exotic Woods guitar day is mid-September. Let's arbitrarily say Oct 17, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Any immediate thoughts? Steve |
